Lori Conner has been the principal of Carrillo K-5 Communication and Creative Arts Magnet School since 2013. She holds a BA degree from the University of Arizona, a master’s in Bilingual/Multicultural Education from Northern Arizona University (NAU), an English as a Second Language Endorsement from NAU, and a Principal Certification from NAU. Her previous positions in education include serving as Assistant Principal for eight years at a K-8 school, and teaching for several years at the middle school level. One of the greatest professional joys of her life is being the principal of Carrillo K-5 Magnet School.
Mrs. Conner has guided our school in creating a unique program of study where all students practice 21st Century skills on a daily basis through communication and creative Arts. Her leadership philosophy includes shared decision-making practices, forming positive relationships, and promoting leadership qualities in all people. She is the proud facilitator for the shared work which resulted in receiving the A+ School of Excellence™ Award granted by the Arizona Educational Foundation. Carrillo has been identified as a leader of schools in Arizona through the A for Arizona Coalition. Mrs. Conner has also been recognized as a Rodel Aspiring Principal.
